All his love

One day, he said-
“Your striking charms
Silky curls of your hair
The dove like eyes
And Lips like flower petals

I love you for all that, dear.

I love you
For i cannot escape the attraction
Of your mesmerizing colour
Of your slim and slender figure”

‘But that sounds similar
As if heard by this ear
Before.’ I thought

“Is that all your love?”
I asked

“No, no there is more
I will clad you in jewels
To show you my love.
Oh my pretty face
I will clad you in lace
I will clad you in silk
Diamonds and rubies, all the gems
And bring for you the finest lands
Mansions, buildings, great and tall
And all the luxuries you might ask for.”

Yes, that was all his love.

A tear skipped my eye
A tear I don’t know why
I was overwhelmed, perhaps?
For His love was too much
His love was too much,
Wasn’t it?
